A New Running Blog to Follow!

Everyone knows that I’m a coach and that I absolutely love that job because I get to coach some of the most talented, cerebral, incredible young women. I learn as much from them as they learn from me and my biggest goal for them is that they love running and being active throughout their lives.

Laurel was a senior when I started coaching, but our bond extends beyond there. Before I ever stepped into my role at MMU, I knew her through this blog because she had surgery for compartment syndrome in the year before I did. During my recovery, she was always posting her experiences and provided great hope that I would recover and return to sport. Because of this, we understand each other extremely well! There is no one who is better to talk to when my foot goes numb or when my calf aches. Last winter, we ran for an hour on a 200 meter indoor track and didn’t even notice the time. It’s that kind of running friendship…

I’m so excited to share her new blog with you, appropriately called Joy Runner. Laurel truly loves running and it’s evident in her writing. On top of this, she is an Exercise Science major at UVM and is rapidly learning all sorts of interesting things that I’m hopeful she shares.

awww, Sarah, thank you so much! I really appreciate it. 🙂 I definitely love running and you and Will were a HUGE part in making that happen. You’re a great coach and friend. I was just thinking back to the day I met you (in person) and remember connecting the dots between your scars and this blog. Good times!
