As I tweeted yesterday, there are weeks in running where it seems like the best activity ever, where you’re just so psyched to be out there and everything clicks together. This week was not one of those weeks. Yeeeeeeeesh. I don’t need one this rough/frustrating/exhausting for a while thankyouverymuch.
Monday: 8.9 miles through the Intervale. Foot totally numb and angry.
Tuesday: 8.75 mile run around South Burlington. Hot, humid and my foot hurt. Heavy arm lift in the afternoon.
Wednesday: Workout day as the rains began. Goal: 15 by 400 at 91 with 90 seconds in between. Not so much. Did 8 400s on pace and just felt awful. Walked off the track and did a cooldown for a total of 8.5 miles. Hip core when I got home. Good timing, as I stayed on the floor with a stomach bug for the next 36 hours.
Thursday: Slept from Wednesday night to Thursday afternoon then got a surprisingly good 9.4 in. Still raining.
Friday: 9 miles with 3 by 30 seconds hard. Feeling much better. Finally stopped raining.
Saturday: Spoke too soon. Goal was 15 miles with 5 at MP. Tried to start the workout 3 times and it was just a no-go. Did a straight 15 instead. Foot a total mess.
Sunday: 9 miles very easy. Hoping this is the end of the blahs.
Total Miles: 68.5
You win some, you lose some. I got good miles in this week and the rest, well, wasn’t great. My sleep is good, my fueling is good so I’m hopeful that when school ends next week, things will start to click together for me.
